Hit, Hit Harder & Keep Hitting

While the world was rejoicing on the day of love, February 14, marked a black day for Indians all over the country. 40 CRPF personnel were martyred after a vehicle laden with up to 350 kg of explosive rammed into a 2500 personnel convoy. Jaish-e-Mohammed operating from Pakistan claimed responsibility. This was one of the biggest attacks on the security forces since the Parliament attack of 2001. The entire country empathized with the martyrs and the forces and united with a cry for revenge.

The government and the nation were tired of the proxy war of Pakistan and immediately decided to cut off all possible and remaining relations. India withdrew the Most Favoured Nation from Pakistan and increased the taxes to 200% for all imports. From suspending the broadcast of PCL to removing all forms of trade, India did everything. But the biggest blow was when the Indian Air Force entered Pakistani Airspace on 26th February and destroyed the Balakot training facility of JeM. This was an attack not just in PoK but also inside Pakistani territory. It was the first time since the 1971 war of Bangladesh that India used its Air Force to attack. Reports said that around 200-300 terrorists were killed. The entire world was in shock and praised India in its efforts to destroy terrorism. Pakistan also came under the radar and was told by many countries to stop providing safe haven to terrorists.

But the problem had just surfaced. The very next day Pakistan used their F-16 to target the Army installations. The Air Force being ready for all circumstances thwarted their attacks and one of our MIG-21 aircraft being piloted by Wg Cdr. Abhinandan Varthaman managed to shoot down one F-16 before being shot down himself. He landed in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and was captured by the Pakistan Army.

Then started the classic response of Pakistan “denial”. From denying the air strikes to saying that it took place but missed the target to denying the fact they attacked our military installations. Pakistan started spinning the web of lies and fake news which was busted every single time with concrete evidence from our side. India also managed to get back their downed pilot after putting severe International pressure. India also urged all the countries around the world to support the ban of JeM leader Maulana Masood Azhar in the UN Security Council (UNSC). India played its cards right and strangled Pakistan both diplomatically and militarily.

We have started to make some headway, with Pakistan agreeing to the fact that Masood Azhar is in Pakistan. They also claim that they have banned his known outfit like Jamaat-ud-Dawa and also arrested his brothers. Although they say that he is very sick and with the recent reports coming in, stating that Masood Azhar may have died. We don’t know whether it’s true or another Pakistan ploy to change his name and also his organization which a classic technique to continue terrorism.

Either way, we can say that the Modi Government policy of no-nonsense stating that if they don’t eradicate terrorists we will has played well not only to the citizens and service personnel of our nation but has also impressed countries around the world and has made India a power to reckon with.
